ZAGREB, September, 25 2016 - The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) actively participated in the work of the 25th International Scientific Conference on Software, Telecommunication and Computer Networks "SoftCOM 2017", which was held in Split from 21 to 23 September. Many participants attended the meeting along with Tomislav Mihotić the State Secretary from the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure such as: the Prefect of the Split-Dalmatia County, the Rector of the Split University, Deans of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture from Split (FESB), Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing Zagreb (FER), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Information Technology from Osijek (FERIT), Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), representatives of IEEE and many other guests. Dražen Lučić President at HAKOM held the welcome speech.
In cooperation with the Faculty of Law in Split HAKOM organized a roundtable on "Smart Cities, Information Security and Challenges". The Moderators of the round tables was Ms. Marija Boban from the Faculty of Law in Split and Mario Weber, a member of the program board of the conference The experts from HAKOM's Control-Meter Center in Split were present at the round table as well. The Round Table was organized within the scope of the project "Look into the Future 2020", where HAKOM has been cooperating with the faculties of the University of Split, Zagreb and Osijek, as well as network operators and companies from the telecommunication industry. Within the scope of Symposium on Information Security and Intellectual Property, Mr. Dražen Lučić President of the Council at HAKOM held the lecture entitled "Regulatory Challenges Due to Security and Privacy Requirements for Internet of Things". By participating at the scientific conferences such as SoftCOM, HAKOM continues its successful cooperation with the representatives of the academic community and industry.
