HAKOM at the Meeting of COCOM’s NBP / 5G Working Group

Brussels hosted the meeting of Working Group on Exchange of Best Practice for broadband internet access and the development of the 5G network.

ZAGREB, September 22, 2017 – Brussels hosted the meeting  of Working Group on Exchange of Best Practice regarding National Broadband Plans to reflect the new gigabit objectives and national 5G "path-to-deployment";: COCOM WG NBP/5G). The Working Group was established in order to exchange information and plans for the EU Member States to improve national broadband access strategies with an emphasis on the introduction of 5G technology.

Four topics were discussed at the meeting: the exchange of experiences on national plans for broadband access, facilitation of easier set up of base station, possibilities for enhancing the electronic communications of special state services and opportunities to foster investment in network infrastructure. The meeting was attended by the representatives of regulatory bodies and ministries responsible for electronic communications of the EU Member States. The Croatian Regulatory Authority (HAKOM) was presented by Juliana Jančula Bauer, Broadcasting Planner Expert.
