HAKOM at this Year’s third BEREC Contact Group Meeting

The main objective of the meeting is the preparation for the 32nd regular BEREC plenary session to be held on October 5 and 6, 2017 in Bucharest, Romania.
  
ZAGREB, September 15, 2017 – Following the invitation of the organizer the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), Belgrade  hosted  this year’s third meeting of the Contact Group of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications), (BEREC).

BEREC was established pursuant to the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council  on the European Electronic Communications Regulators (BEREC) and the Office as of 25 November 2009, no. 1211/2009  and it replaced the European Group of Regulators for Electronic Communications Networks and Services (ERG), which, until then, had been an advisory body of the Commission in the development of the internal market and an intermediary between state regulatory authorities and the Commission.
 
BEREC operates within the scope of Directive 2002/21 / EC (Framework Directive), 2002/19 / EC, 2002/20 / EC, 2002/22 / EC and 2002/58 / EC (special directives) no. 717/2007 performing the tasks independently, impartially and transparently by contributing  to the development and better functioning of the internal market of electronic communications networks and services with a view by aiming to ensure consistent application of the EU regulatory framework for electronic communications.
 
The aim of this year’s second CN is the preparation for the 32nd regular BEREC plenary session which will be held on October 5 and 6, 2017, in Bucharest, Romania according to. In addition to BEREC's report regarding certain areas of the electronic communications market (implementation of network neutrality, roaming benchmarks, regulatory accounting etc.) much of the discussion was devoted to the 2018 BEREC Annual Work Programme  Proposal and the document is planned for  public discussion  and BEREC 2018-2020 Strategy aligning with 2018 annual work program proposal.

The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Marko Čavlović, Assistant Director at HAKOM and Natalija Boltužić, Council Secretary at HAKOM.
