ZAGREB, May 13, 2017 - A new form of Internet threat - the ransom of "WannaCry" (also known as Wana Decrypt0r, WannaCryptor or WCRY), Ransomware uses the authority of the SMB protocol ("EternalBlue") aimed to launch malicious code after which the data is encrypted on the computer and users are asked do payment in order to receive the decryption key.

Windows users who have not installed the patch released by Microsoft in March (MS17-010) are particularly vulnerable. Recommendation: In order to protect the end- users from this threat, we advise you to update your Windows operating system with the latest legal patches or minimal patch installation that corrects the vulnerability of the label MS17-010 (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms17-010.aspx). It is also recommended to block the incoming connections toward ports 445 and 139 or to completely disable SMBv1 / CIFS protocols.
