HAKOM’s Award ˝Antun Carić”

The annual prize named after "Antun Carić," is awarded to the published or publicly presented scientific or professional work within HAKOM’s scope of work.
ZAGREB, 19 December 2016 - In memory of Antun Carić, (passed away in April ,2015) as one of the creators of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) as a modern, independent, national regulatory authority, HAKOM has established the prize named "Antun Carić," which is being awarded to the published or presented scientific or professional work within HAKOM’s scope of work.
Željko Tabaković was awarded first prize. In collaboration with Mislav Grgić, from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing he wrote a thesis entitled “Cognitive Radio Frequency Assignment with Interference Weighting and Categorization”. The work was published in EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, scientific paper of category A (Current Content database) with an international review. In collaboration with Ivana Dražić Lutilsky from the Faculty of Economics University of Zagreb, Ana Katalinić Mucalo and Krešimir Mazor were awarded second prize. Their work was on” Impacts and Benefits of Transition to DVB-T2 Standard and Assignment of Second Digital Dividend”. The work was presented at the International Symposium ELMAR 2016 Zadar and published in the collection of papers. Vladimir Žuti was awarded third prize for his work on “Low-voltage electrical Installations in the Building of Electronic Communications.” This work was presented at the “9th Days of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.”
By awarding annual prizes, HAKOM promotes professional and scientific development, but also cultivates the memory of Mr. Antun Carić whom we should thank for many successful programs and projects such as "e-agencies' cooperation projects with the university community in the Republic of Croatia" Looking to the future ", as well as specialist postgraduate degree from the regulation of electronic communications and program support for the development of broadband Internet.
