The discussion topic at the meeting of the Committee for Electronic Communications (ECC) was on the radio frequency spectrum for 5G technology, the use of GSM, UMTS and LTE systems on aircraft and the use of short-range devices.
ZAGREB, 16 November 2016 - On November 15, the 43rd meeting of the (Electronic Communications Committee - ECC) was held. The Committee considered and developed the policy of electronic communications in the European context, taking into account the European and international legislation. At the meeting which took place until November 18, the following topics were discussed: radio frequency spectrum for 5G technology ,the use of GSM, UMTS and LTE systems on the aircraft, the use of terrestrial and satellite mobile terminals operating under the control of networks, earth stations on vessels, operating in fixed-satellite network (4 GHz and 6 GHz), GSM-R (GSM for railway applications) as well further development of the railways and the use of short-range devices.
The representatives of regulatory authorities, international institutions and the economy took part in the meeting. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Ivančica Sakal.
