HAKOM Participated at the Third Expanded Meeting of the Council of Professional Shippers and Maritime Agencies

The Croatian Chamber of Commerce held session in Rijeka and one of the topics was “The analysis of the working time of institutions and service providers in the port of Rijeka.
ZAGREB, 4 November 2016 – Following the invitation of the organizer the Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE), County Chamber (CC) Rijeka, the representatives of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) took part in the third expanded meeting of the Council of Professional Shippers and Maritime Agencies which was held at the business premises of CCE CC Rijeka. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Port Authority, shippers, freight forwarders, customs representatives, phytosanitary inspection, and the port of Rijeka, Faculty of Maritime Studies, CCE Rijeka and the Department of railway services of HAKOM.
One of the topics of the meeting was the analysis of working time institutions and service providers in the port of Rijeka, which included 14 different stakeholders operating in the port of Rijeka. The analysis included working hours and shift schedule on weekdays and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, as well as a schedule of daily breaks, overtime hours and overtime compensation paid by the end users.
The above -mentioned analysis will certainly serve as a good basis for the 5th Round Table between HAKOM and CCE, which is designed as an interactive thematic meeting where the current issues related to the competitiveness of the Rijeka Gateway will be discussed as well as possible solutions thereof, including the issue of harmonization of working time of various stakeholders in the transport process.
