HAKOM at the Workshop Organized by the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations

German regulator BNetzA hosted the Workshop on 5G mobile communications which was held in Mainz
ZAGREB, 3 November 2016 –Following the invitation of the organizer European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations - CEPT a workshop was held on 5G mobile communications from 2 to 4 November. The German regulatory authority for network industries (Bundesnetzagentur - BNetzA) hosted the workshop. The topics that were presented and discussed are related to the requests for additional radio frequency spectrum necessary for the development and successful implementation of 5G technology, the usage of 5G technologies in the existing harmonized bands for mobile networks communication, question quality and availability of services. In addition, the discussion topics were related to requirements of other industries like the 5G technology users, healthcare , energy, transport and others, as well as challenges expected for further development of the regulatory framework.
The experts from regulatory authorities from all around the world and Europe and the industry attended the Conference while prominent speakers were the representatives of CEPT, ITU and BEREC. The chairman of working groups was in charge of managing the radio frequency spectrum. On behalf of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), Krešimir Mazor and Gordan Šimac, Experts at HAKOM, took part in the Conference.
