The participants in the meeting discussed Member States’ comments on the text of the implementing regulation on criteria for fair use of roaming services. The adoption of this regulation is a precondition for complete elimination of retail roaming services by June 2017.
ZAGREB, 20 October 2016 – The 65 th meeting of the Communications Committee (COCOM) was held in Brussels on 19 October. The Republic of Croatia was represented at the meeting by the head of the Legal Affairs Department of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), Mr. Domagoj Maričić.
COCOM is a committee for dialogue between the European Commission (EC) and the EU Member States on issues covered by the EC’s delegated legislative authority (authority to adopt implementing legislation), which require consultation with experts from the Member States prior to their adoption. The participants in the meeting discussed Member States’ comments on the text of the implementing regulation on criteria for fair use of roaming services. The adoption of this regulation is a precondition for complete elimination of retail roaming services by June 2017.
Following the discussion and additional written comments, the EC will present to the Committee the amendments to the text of the regulation that will be discussed at the next meeting planned for 11 November.
