HAKOM at the Meeting of the Working Group for Postal Services

The Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on cross-border parcel delivery services.
ZAGREB, October 18, 2016 - The meeting of the Working Group of the EU Council which is responsible for the postal services was held in Brussels on Tuesday. The topic of the meeting was the Proposal of a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on cross-border parcel delivery services. Ana Šubat Perković, Legal Affairs Expert, took part in the meeting as a representative of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM).
In May 2016, the European Commission published the Proposal of Regulation and submitted it to the regular legislative procedure. The proposed Regulation shall be adopted as one of the measures of the Digital Single Market Strategy (DSM), which will be of help to the service users and companies from the EU to take full advantage of the EU single market, to buy and sell goods and services via the Internet in an easier and more reliable way by means of improving price transparency, elimination of cross-border obstacles and administrative constraints, the improvement of regulatory oversight of cross-border parcel delivery services and measures aimed at elimination of potential unfair commercial practices in the digital world.
