Zagreb, 14 October 2016. – Osijek hosted on 12 to 14 October the international conference "Smart Systems and Technologies 2016 - SST 2016" which included presentations of academic and expert papers on smart systems and technologies in electrical engineering, IT, robotics and interdisciplinary research. The conference was organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek.
The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented at the conference by two papers, and Mr. Dražen Lučić, the President of the Council, was one of the members of the Conference programme committee. On the first day of the conference during the thematic session on wireless communications, HAKOM’s experts Gordan Šimac, Krešimir Mazor and Josip Milanović presented their paper entitled ˝Performance analysis of empirical propagation model for Long term evaluation (LTE) network˝. The paper covered the calculated and measured values of parameters important for the planning of LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks. The second paper was presented at the session on the Internet of Things and it was entitled "Electronic Communications as Smart City Enablers". This paper was written by Dražen Lučić, the President of the Council, Mario Weber, HAKOM’s Executive Director and professor Ignac Lovrek.
HAKOM has had long and successful cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology in Osijek for many years, through its branch office in Osijek and within the framework of the “Looking to the Future” project.
