The most important topics of the meeting include the drafting of a proposal for stronger technical coordination of the RF spectrum in the 870 – 876 MHz and 915 – 921 MHz bands for use by short-range devices in Europe and the discussion on requirements for the urban railway system, application in cars, medicine and for other uses.    
 
ZAGREB, 9 September 2016 – The 68th meeting of the Short Range Devices/Maintenance Group (SRD/MG) is taking place in London. This group is in charge of technical coordination of the RF spectrum for use by short-range devices which have an increasingly important role in everyday life. On the basis of the its research, the working group assesses the requirements and possibilities for future use of the valuable and limited resource which is the RF spectrum. The working group also discusses solutions for improvements in regulation which would stimulate further innovation or improvement of efficiency in bands used by short-range devices.
 
The most important topics of the meeting include the drafting of a proposal for stronger technical coordination of the RF spectrum in the 870 – 876 MHz and 915 – 921 MHz bands for use by short-range devices in Europe and the discussion on the requirements for the urban railway system, application in cars, medicine and for other uses.
 
The meeting of the working group is attended by 57 participants; representatives of administration, industry and their associations and representatives of ETSI, ECO and EC. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is represented by a senior expert for R&TT equipment, Tomislav Bartolec.
