Amendments to the Ordinance on the manner and deadlines for the implementation of measures for the protection of security and integrity of networks and services will enter into force on 1 January 2017

These amendments provide for obligations of IT systems audit, which is part of a measure concerning the supervision of technical and organizational measures undertaken by operators in order to ensure security of their networks and services and routing of public communications networks operators and / or services with a view to ensuring high level of security and accessibility of public communications networks and services.
 
ZAGREB, 22 July 2016 – The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) announces the publication of amendments to the Ordinance on the manner and deadlines for the implementation of measures for the protection of security and integrity of networks and services (OG No. 67/16).
 
These amendments provide for obligations of IT systems audit, which is part of a measure concerning the supervision of technical and organizational measures undertaken by operators in order to ensure security of their networks and services and routing of public communications networks operators and / or services with a view to ensuring high level of security and accessibility of public communications networks and services. In a decision on the adoption of the National Cybersecurity Strategy and its Action Plan (OG 108/15), HAKOM was designated as the competent authority for the above-mentioned measure and for that reason, and with a view to fulfilling the obligations under the measure, amendments to the above-mentioned Ordinance were adopted.
 
Additional amendments were also envisaged concerning the alignment with ENISA’s guidelines and forms as well as amendments that should contribute to clearer definition of obligations related to the manner of notification of end users about the incidents.
 
The Ordinance on the manner and deadlines for the implementation of measures for the protection of security and integrity of networks and services will enter into force on 1 January 2017 and it is available here.
