The topic of the meeting was the proposal of a Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on cross-border parcel delivery.
ZAGREB, 20 July 2016 – A meeting of the Council of the EU Working party on Telecommunications, Postal Services, Competitiveness and Growth was held in Brussels. The topic of the meeting was the proposal of a Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on cross-border parcel delivery. The meeting was attended by experts from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), Ana Šubat Perković and Mislav Hebel.
The European Commission published the proposal of the Regulation on 25 May 2016 and submitted it to ordinary legislative procedure. The proposal of the Regulation is one of the measures under the Digital Single Market Strategy (DSM) aimed at helping users of services and companies from the EU to exploit all the benefits arising from the EU single market by facilitating online buying and selling of goods and services through increased transparency of prices, elimination of cross-border barriers and administrative restrictions, improving regulatory supervision over cross-border parcel delivery and measures for eliminating potential unfair commercial practice in the digital world.
