ZAGREB, 1 June 2016 – The 39th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO 2016), was opened this Wednesday, 1 June 2006, in Opatija. The event, which gathered around 1200 participants and which will include presentations of more than 400 scientific papers, was opened by the Assistant Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Jure Šarić.
More information about MIPRO 2016 is available at the following link http://www.mipro.hr/MIPRO2016/ELink.aspx.On Tuesday, 31 May, the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries organized in Grand Hotel Adriatic in Opatija, within the framework of MIPRO, a round table on the topic of the “Financing of the Building of Networks for Broadband Access in Areas Lacking Commercial Interest for Use of the European Structural and Investment Funds”. The round table included explanations of processes and procedures necessary for the notification of projects for the building of broadband infrastructure and representatives of local and regional self-government were given instructions on who to contact and where to ask for help and explanations concerning their projects. The current situation concerning the fulfilment of requirements for the use of EU funds was presented. HAKOM was represented at the round table by Mrs. Ana Katalinić Mucalo, as the moderator, and Mr. Mislav Hebel and Mr. Josip Šajnović, as participants. Furthermore, HAKOM has organized the 3rd Forum on the future of the UHF Band – Digital Terrestrial Television and the Second Digital Dividend” where HAKOM’s experts clarified strategic direction and key decisions within the framework of the Digital Switchover Strategy to the DVB-T2 and the allocation of the 700 MHz frequency band and informed the interested parties about the planned and ongoing activities. They also started a discussion on the potential of mobile communications networks. HAKOM was represented at the Forum by Mrs. Ana Katalinić Mucalo, as the moderator, and Mr. Gordan Šimac, as one of the participants in the round table. HAKOM will also be represented this year at Croatian Internet Governance Forum (CRO-IGF) which will be attended by HAKOM’s representatives, HAKOM’s Director Mario Weber as the representative of the Republic of Croatia at the Future Internet Forum of the European Commission and a senior expert for communications services, Velimir Švedek, HAKOM’s as HAKOM’s representative in the CRO-IGF organization committee.
