ZAGREB, May 23, 2016 –The 39th International ICT Convention MIPRO will be held in Opatija (Grande Hotel Adriatic) in the period from 30 May to 3 June which will bring together a number of local and foreign experts in the field of information and communications technology and related high technologies in the economy, education, science and administration. Within this year's meeting ten conferences will be held on the narrower areas of high technology, several round tables analysing the impact of the ICT development on the economic and social development as well as the workshops, seminars, forums and thematic days dedicated to specific technological issues.
The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), as one of the sponsors of the event is the organizer of the "III Forum on the Future of the UHF Band (second digital dividend and digital terrestrial television). “ The Forum will be held in the Congress hall Fortuna, Grand hotel Adriatic Opatija on May 2016 from 3 PM to 5 PM. The participants will discuss about the strategic principles and key decisions within the framework of the “Strategy for the transition to digital terrestrial television system DVB-T2 and allocation of the frequency band of 700 MHz and THEY will give their views on the technical and economic impacts of the transition to DVB-T2 and the allocation of the second digital dividend. The current status of the Strategy, an overview of the international activities and future plans and legislative framework in Croatia will be presented with the special emphasis on the future time determination. In addition HAKOM will organize a round table on the "Financing the Construction of Broadband Networks where there is no Commercial Interest in Using the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI)", which will be held in the Congress hall Fortuna, Grand hotel Adriatic Opatija on May 2016 from 3 PM to 5 PM . At the roundtable the processes and procedures necessary for submitting the project application for the construction of broadband infrastructure will be discussed and clarified while the current situation will be presented regarding the fulfilment of the preconditions for the withdrawal of the EU funds. Their experiences related to the development projects of broadband infrastructure will be presented by representatives of the Republic of Slovenia.
