HAKOM at the 2nd Meeting of the BEREC’s Expert Working Group in Budapest

The objective of the meeting is the preparation for the 27th BEREC regular plenary meeting to be held in Vienna from 1 to 3 June 2016.
ZAGREB, May 13, 2016 – Following the invitation of the organizer the Hungarian regulatory authority NMHH (Nemzeti Media- en Hírközlési Hatóság) this year’s second in a row meeting of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications is held in Budapest. The objective of the meeting is the preparation for the 27th BEREC regular plenary meeting which will be held from 1 to 3 June 2016, in Vienna, Austria. The Contact Group is expected to discuss the topics that will be the focus of the next plenary meeting. The discussion topic which is of great importance is the Draft Guidelines for the Implementation of the European Net Neutrality Rules necessary for a consistent application of Regulation 2015/2120 (TSM Regulation) in the part concerning the open Internet. In fact, it is a document representing the proposals for the national regulators on the implementation of liabilities regarding the monitoring, implementation and measures ensuring the open Internet access. The obligation of drafting the guidelines is laid down in Article 5 (3) of TSM Regulation according to which BEREC is obliged to draft guidelines for the implementation of measures related to the Net neutrality.
The prepared BEREC documents will be discussed and its final version will be discussed at the plenary meeting. At the meeting of the Contact Group, the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Lidija Antonić, Senior Legal Expert at HAKOM and Natalija Boltužić, Council Secretary at HAKOM.
