HAKOM warns the users: Do not respond to Calls from Unknown International Numbers and Report the Attempted Abuse!

There has been a new attempt to deceit the users who were receiving the calls from +882 13800xxx in the network of one mobile electronic communications operator on Thursday. HAKOM advises the users not to respond to this and similar calls in case they have doubts about the caller’s authenticity.
 
ZAGREB, April 22, 2016 - On Thursday, April 21, there was a new deceitful attempt, that is, an increased number of international calls has been noticed from the numbers starting with +882 13800xxx to one part of the users in the network of a mobile electronic communications operator It refers to the fraudsters who leave short calls noticed as missed calls and the user’s return call is expected. In cooperation with the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) the operator immediately disabled access to those numbers in order to prevent damage and uncontrolled costs caused by calling those numbers back.
 
HAKOM advises the users not to respond to the suspected calls. In case of receiving such calls from these or similar numbers the users are requested to immediately inform their operator or HAKOM, in order to stop the deceitful attempt and prevent unwanted expenses as soon as possible.
