HAKOM at a conference on “New Trends in Consumer Dispute Resolution”

HAKOM’s experiences in consumer protection were presented at the conference organized in Zagreb by the Ministry of the Economy and the European Consumer Centres Network in Croatia on the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day.
ZAGREB, 2 March 2016 – On the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day, the Ministry of the Economy and European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) organized this Wednesday in Zagreb, in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of the Economy (HGK) and the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts (HOK) a conference entitled “New Trends in Consumer Dispute Resolution”. The conference is aimed at informing and educating traders and consumers about alternative dispute resolution methods. The conference included various presentations, including two panel discussions on the topic of “Implementation of legislation on alternative consumer dispute resolution” and “Alternative consumer dispute resolution in practice”. There will also be held a round table on the topic of “Future of consumer movement in the Republic of Croatia.”
Since the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is not only in charge of market regulation but also solves disputes between users and providers of electronic communications, postal and rail services, its experiences were presented during panel discussion on alternative consumer dispute resolution by an expert, Ms. Marina Ljubić Karanović.
