HAKOM at the Plenary Meeting of the Administration Council of the Universal Postal Union (CA UPU)

HAKOM’s representatives participated at the Plenary Meeting of the Administrative Council of the Universal Postal Union, which was held in Bern from 24 to 26 February prior to the upcoming UPU Congress.
 
ZAGREB, 26 February 2016 -The last Plenary Meeting of the (Council of Administration, CA) of the Universal Postal Union was held in Bern prior to the 26th Congress of the UPU which will be held in Istanbul from September 20 to October 7, 2016. CA provides the continuity of the UPU between Congresses monitoring its activities and examining the administrative, legislative and legal issues. It is consisted of 41 members from the UPU member countries but the representatives of all 192 UPU member countries participate at the CA plenary meeting. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented by Marijan Bolarić, Council Member and Dalibor Lončar, Deputy Director.
 
The draft strategic plan by UPU was presented at the meeting and it will be adopted at the upcoming Congress in Istanbul as well as the business plan which will be the foundation of the UPU Programme and Budget for a new work cycle from 2017 to 2020. Moreover, the proposal of UPU reform was presented as well as necessary acts that would be adopted at the Congress in order to increase the efficiency of the UPU, primarily the working groups.
