ZAGREB, 18 November 2015 –The Slovenian regulator, the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia – AKOS organized a two-day workshop held in Ljubljana with the aim of presenting a new AKOS's applications Akos Test Net, meaning discussing the measuring mode that would identify the gaps in the operators’ network, what will ultimately provide users with a better service quality.
The representatives of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) are taking part in the workshop. Their experience is of great importance, because Croatia is one of the few countries that regulated the minimum speeds in relation to the maximum speeds and provided the users with the option of service termination on the basis of measurements indicating that the service is not within the defined range. The Republic of Croatia designed HAKOMetar tool in 2012 enabling the users to measure the speed of the Internet access in the fixed electronic communications networks while within the EU Member States only Italy has a certified tool whose measurements represent the base for filing a complaint regarding the quality of service before the operator.
The representatives of many Slovenian institutions and the representatives of the Austrian company Specura GmbH that developed an application for AKOS are participating at the workshop as HAKOM's experts Andro Marčev and Vesna Gašpar.
