If HAKOM accepts VIPnet’s bid, the state budget will be increased by HRK 141 million

VIPnet d.o.o. submitted its bid in the public auction procedure for the two remaining frequency blocks in the frequency band for mobile communications networks.

ZAGREB, 5 November 2015 – The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) opened at the public opening of bids received in the public auction procedure for the RF band a bid submitted for the remaining RF spectrum in the frequency band for mobile communications networks. This band includes a total of 15.6 MHz of unallocated frequencies. The bid was submitted by VIPnet d.o.o., which offered 55 million and two hundred thousand kunas for the frequency block A, and 86 million and two hundred thousand kunas for the frequency block B.

Two frequency blocks were offered at the auction, one at 2x3 MHz (block A) and one at 2x4,8 MHz (block B), for the provision of communications services on the basis of technological neutrality, which means that operators are free use any existing technology permitted for mobile communications (from GSM to LTE).

HAKOM will adopt its final decision on the granting of licences following an analysis and verification of bid documentation, which is expected in the second half of this month. If both blocks are allocated to it, the company VIPnet d.o.o. would have to make its payment to the State Budget by the end of this year, thus increasing it by HRK 141 million.
