HAKOM at a bilateral meeting with the Macedonian rail services market regulator

A two-day bilateral meeting between the rail market regulatory authority of the Republic of Macedonia and the Croatian regulatory authority HAKOM is taking place in Skopje. The objective of the meeting is to exchange experiences and to establish harmonized regulatory practice.
ZAGREB, 17 September 2015 – A two-day bilateral meeting between the rail market regulatory authority of the Republic of Macedonia and the Croatian regulatory authority HAKOM is taking place in Skopje in compliance with Article 57 of Directive 2012/34/EU establishing a single European railway area (Recast) defining the cooperation between regulatory authorities. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for network Industries (HAKOM) is represented at the meeting by a member of the Council of HAKOM, Nikola Popović, and by HAKOM’s experts for rail services, Nataša Oliva Prgeša and Kristijan Solina.
The meeting is focused on the exchange of experiences with Croatian and Macedonian legislation in the area of rail services and passenger rights regulation, including HAKOM’s experiences with cooperation with other stakeholders on the rail services market. A special emphasis is placed on the regulation of the rail services market and other novelties introduced by Directive 2012/34/EU, which has been implemented by the Republic of Croatia through the Railways Act. The objective of the meeting is to exchange experiences and establish a harmonized regulatory practice.
