HAKOM: Imenik d.o.o. proclaimed operator of a part of universal services in electronic communicationsNEWSImenik d.o.o will start providing universal services in accordance with a Decision adopted by the Council of HAKOM at the latest by 29 November 2015 under the conditions and at prices approved by HAKOM.
ZAGREB, 30 July 2015 – The Council of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) adopted a decision laying down that the company Imenik d.o.o. from Zagreb, Folnegovićeva 10, will be a provider of universal services on the territory of the Republic of Croatia for four (4) years and that it will provide the following universal services:
- access of end users to at least one comprehensive directory of all subscribers of publicly available telephone services in the form approved by HAKOM, which may be printed and/or electronic, and such services must be regularly provided in compliance with the provisions of Article 47 of the ECA, - access of end users of services, including users of public pay phones, to directory enquiry services covering all subscriber numbers pursuant to the provisions of Article 47 of the ECA, - special measures to ensure that disabled persons have equal access to directory enquiry service covering all subscriber numbers and to a directory of all subscribers as other end users of services, - special tariff systems adjusted to groups of users with special social needs for access to directory enquiry service covering all subscriber numbers and to the directory of all subscribers. Imenik d.o.o. is obliged to start providing the above-mentioned services at the latest by 29 November 2015 under the conditions and at prices approved by HAKOM. Pursuant to the Electronic Communications Act (Official Gazette No . 73/08, 90/1, 133/12, 80/13 and 71/14), HAKOM is obliged to promote interests of users of electronic communications services in different ways, including by ensuring access to universal services for all users of services. Universal services are basic services in electronic communications that must be available to all end users of services at an affordable price in the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia on the basis of an end-user’s reasonable request regardless of their geographical location. Services covered by universal services include access to the public communications network and telephone services at a fixed location (conveyance of speech and data, and facsimile), efficient Internet access, directory of all users, directory enquiry service covering all subscriber numbers, provision of public pay phones, special tariff systems adjusted to users with special social needs and special measures for disabled persons.
