The public consultation on amendments to Radio Frequency Allocation TableNEWSThere is an ongoing public consultation on Radio Frequency Allocation Table. The public consultation will be open until 29 May 2015.
Zagreb, 29 May 2015- Croatian Regulatory Authorities for Network Industries (HAKOM) has started a public consultation on the proposed amendments to the Radio Frequency Allocation Table. The structure of the spectrum is non- static and it is constantly being developed in order to reflect the ongoing changes especially in the field of technology. The allocation and assignment of RF spectrum for different uses must follow those changes. Pursuant to valid regulations, new amendments to the Table have been proposed including the allocation and assignment of specific frequency bands for a specific application, in accordance with the European decisions and recommendations, in order to foster the development of those applications and to meet the market and industry demands. The changes allow the free use of the device, mostly the so-called short-range devices for various new applications. Those are usually consumer goods that can be transferred across the country borders and used within the European borderlines. Due to the growing importance of the short-range devices for the economy and rapid technological changes and society’s needs, new applications are constantly emerging what requires regular updating of the RF spectrum.
The proposed amendments to the Radio Frequency Allocation Table include the access technologies and frequency bands for mobile communications services on aircraft and vessels. After closure of the public consultation on May, 29, 2015, and the comments received, the proposed amendments to Radio Frequency Allocation Table will be sent to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure.
