HAKOM chooses new ideas for development of applications

 NEWS

Citizens and companies responded to the public invitation for the submission of designs for software applications and services with a total of twelve ideas. The three selected designs will be implemented by means of public tenders following the preparation of technical documentation.

ZAGREB, 26 November 2014 – Following a public invitation, the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) adopted a decision on the selection and implementation of three designs for applications and services for promoting and harmonizing the development of broadband in areas of special state concern, hilly and mountainous areas and islands. The three selected designs cover the areas of health care – IT system for control and management of diabetes, safety – e-police and alert/rescue – fire alerting system, and they will be implemented by means of public tenders as soon as conditions for the invitation of the tender are fulfilled, that is, as soon as the necessary tender and technical documentation for individual applications is ready.

The ideas were collected by means of a public invitation open to legal and natural persons, and the selected ideas are deemed to have the greatest contribution to the development of the economy and quality of life in the Republic of Croatia. In addition to the selected ideas, HAKOM also received other designs, but, due to limited funds for the development of applications, only those ideas deemed to have the greatest contribution to the development, were selected. Companies and citizens whose designs have been selected, but who are not target uses, will receive a reward amounting to HRK 5,000.
