Public invitation for allocation of Radiofrequency spectrum for mobile communications networks

NEWS

HAKOM has invited a public invitation for the allocation of the remaining RF spectrum in the 1710-1785/1805-1880 MHz band. The offered spectrum may be used in mobile communications for high-speed data transfer.

ZAGREB, 5 November 2014 – The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) invited a public tender for the granting of licences for use of the radiofrequency spectrum for public networks of mobile electronic communications networks in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for the remaining share of the available RF spectrum in the 1710-1785/1805-1880 MHz band. All applicants who satisfy the prescribed requirements may participate in the public invitation, and in case of interest exceeding the available resources, HAKOM will invite the appropriate further procedure for the allocation of frequencies, which may include a public competition or an auction.

The radiofrequency spectrum at 1710-1785/1805-1880 MHz has already been partially allocated to the three mobile network operators and HAKOM was among the first regulators in the world to allow a technologically neutral use of GSM, UMTS and LTE technologies in all frequency bands for mobile communications. Therefore, the remaining frequencies may also be used for high-speed data transfer (LTE), depending on individual operator’s plans.

The public invitation is available at the following link: default.aspx?id=45
