Development of new socially-useful applications has started

PRESS RELEASE

The ninth round of public tenders for the development of socially-useful applications has been completed with the selection of the best tenderers. This is a final stage and the development and the launching of applications is expected during the following year.

ZAGREB, 7 October 2014 – After the expiry of deadline for the submission of tenders  for the development of socially-useful applications, the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries conducted a public opening of tenders and selected the most favourable ones. In July of this year, HAKOM invited a public tender for the development of six applications, (e-Newborn, e-services of the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (HZZO), Cro112, Volunteers for Civil Protection, the Data collection system for protection and rescue resources (ZiS), and the Croatian Red Cross (HCK) – Mobile technology in the service of humanity). Total estimated value of the procurement of applications divided into groups amounted to HRK five million. The tender in question invoked significant interest of Croatian companies and 49 tenders were received. The selection process was completed for five applications among which, in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, the most favourable ones were selected. The selection was based on the lowest offered price together with the fulfilment of all conditions from the tender. The completed mentioned applications will be available to all interested citizens, which is expected in the following year.

HAKOM continues with the next stages in the development of applications from the aid programme. It is currently preparing tender documentation for the remaining selected ideas for various software solutions that will make the life of citizens of Croatia much easier.  The development of applications is aimed at faster development of the “broadband ecosystem” – broadband networks, useful applications and IT infrastructure such as servers and user terminals. HAKOM has so far initiated the development of internet applications in the areas of health, protection and rescue, education, agriculture, e-safety and e-Government services.
