HAKOM granted state aid for broadband infrastructure development in Eastern Slavonia

At the sixth invitation to tender for the granting of aid for the development of broadband networks in areas of special state concern, in highland and mountain areas and on the islands, HAKOM granted almost HRK 2.65 million to the selected tenderer.
 
ZAGREB, 1 October 2014 – The Council of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) selected the best tender submitted to the sixth invitation to tender for the granting of state aid for the development of high-speed broadband networks in areas of special state concern, in highland and mountain areas and on the islands for the area of Eastern Slavonia („Cvelferija“), which was affected by catastrophic floods in May this year.
 
Tenders for the development of high-speed networks for public institutions such as schools, health care institutions and other users were submitted by Hrvatski Telekom and VIPnet.
 
Following a detailed analysis, it was decided that the tender submitted by the company Hrvatski Telekom d.d. amounting to HRK 2,647,349.00 will be accepted.
 
Within the first five rounds of invitations to tender for the development of high-speed broadband networks in areas of special state concern, in highland and mountain areas and on the islands, HAKOM granted almost HRK 38 million of state aid. The programme for the development of high-speed broadband networks in areas of special state concern, in highland and mountain areas and on the islands includes aid for the entire value chain of the broadband system: high-speed network, development of services and applications and the accompanying telecommunications equipment.
