Switchover Strategy
The Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the
Analogue to Digital Television Broadcasting Switchover Strategy for the Republic of Croatia according to which full switchover from analogue to digital broadcasting of television programmes in the Republic of Croatia will be carried out by 31 December 2010.
Digital television provides better signal quality, interference-free reception, wider choice through additional television programmes and new services, such as digital teletext, interactivity, Electronic Program Guides (EPG) and High Definition Television (HDTV) for the viewers.

Digital Television Plan in the Republic of Croatia is based primarily on the International Agreement and Radio Frequency Assignment Plan – Geneva 2006 (GE06) passed at the Regional Radio Communications Conference (RRC-06) held in Geneva in 2006. In accordance with the international Radio Frequency Plan – Geneva 2006, the frequencies defined in the Digital Television Plan in the Republic of Croatia shall be completely available after 2015. Until then, the Agency must continuously harmonize radio frequencies on the international level and with other electronic communications networks in the Republic of Croatia, in accordance with the procedures defined in the GE06 agreement.
